Comments: Little Golden Books was a favorite when I was a wee child so it is rather nice to see this and other Captain America-themed children's books this year. This book is small in format and not with a lot of pages but looks to be different than the other Courageous Cap Kids books.

Comments: Another picture book but NOT from the FIRST AVENGER movie. This is from the Avengers cartoon. Basically, the book version of the cartoon of Cap's WWII Avengers cartoon but it is great to see that artwork in print. Also, 4 trading cards are included inside.

Comments: Another junior novel photo book like the last post. This one features the adventure where Cap breaks into the Hydra prison camp to free the Allied soldiers including Bucky and the Howling Commandos.

Comments: Another FIRST AVENGER movie tie-in. Only 32 pages, this book for young readers takes a segment of the FA movie and adds words with photos from the movie. There are other books in the series to round out the whole story or one can buy a whole book containing it all. More on those in future posts.

The Courageous Captain America Children's Book

Item: The Courageous Captain America: An Origin Story

Comments: One of the many products in the wave of Cap stuff in time for the FIRST AVENGER movie is this illustrated children's book. But this one focuses on the classic look and not the Chris Evans look and, rather than a comic book, is done in a children's book format of many illustrations (non-comic book style) and simple text.


It's adapted by Roy Thomas with illustrations by Val Semeiks and Bob McLeod (always liked his stuff). Brian Miller's Hi-Fi Color did the color (obviously) while Pat Olliffe and Miller did the cover art.
