2011 Courageous Cap Coloring Book

Item: The Courageous Captain America Coloring Book
Year: 2011
Company: Dalmatian Press, LLC

Comments: Yet another Cap coloring book by Dalmatian. I'll need to check this with the other one to see if the interiors are the same but just with a different cover (I suspect so).

2011 Courageous Cap Coloring Book

Item: The Courageous Captain America Coloring Book
Year: 2011
Company: Dalmatian Press, LLC

Comments: Better than the poorly done coloring books from a decade ago with the terrible art. The art is decent in this one if not a little stylized. Some of the art is reused again and again, which happens with these coloring books. Villains featured are Arnim Zola, Baron Zemo, Hydra, A.I.M., Modoc, but NO Red Skull???

2002 Captain America Coloring & Activity Books

Item: Captain America Coloring & Activity Books
Year: 2002
Company: Paradise Press

Comments: Paradise Press are at it again!! Ugh! Don't be fooled by the covers! The interior art is terrible. This time, you have to supply your own crayons for color but they are thick books. I also have three Avengers ones.

2002 Captain America Paint with Water Coloring Books

Item: Captain America Paint with Water Coloring Books
Year: 2002
Company: Paradise Press, Inc.

Comments: Two coloring books by this company. And the coloring is already on the page in the form of a colored line. So kids just have to add water and push the color into the areas. An interesting idea but Paradise Press must have used all their money on getting the licensing rights and the color process that the actual drawings inside look terrible (nothing like the covers). It literally looks like they hired a 5th grader to draw them. Bad. Real bad.

1997 Captain America and the Avengers Coloring Book

Item: Captain America and the Avengers Lost in Time Coloring Book
Year: 1997
Company: Marvel Comics

Comments: An original story for this coloring book published directly from Marvel Comics. It is a time travel story so, naturally, Kang makes an appearance. Avengers featured are Thor, the Falcon, Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau), Giant-Man, and the Wasp (insect version). And the New York Yankees (Boo! Hiss!). Nice drawings though.

1966 Whitman Coloring Book

Item: Captain America Coloring Book
Year: 1966
Company: Whitman

Comments: Prior to 1966, there really wasn't much Captain America memorabilia. That all started to change in 1966 as the first round of Cap merchandise started to appear. The 1960s stuff is now a little tough to get but this 1966 Whitman coloring book is fairly easy to find on eBay.

The drawings inside are not that bad and the stories are knock offs of some of the Tales of Suspense stories with Nick Fury, Batroc, A.I.M., and Sharon Carter (still unnamed here and in the comics until a couple years later).
