Comments: Another FIRST AVENGER movie tie-in. Only 32 pages, this book for young readers takes a segment of the FA movie and adds words with photos from the movie. There are other books in the series to round out the whole story or one can buy a whole book containing it all. More on those in future posts.

Comments: Media coverage of the FIRST AVENGER movie leaps across the pond to the United Kingdom for this film magazine. It's the usual photos and article in this All-American issue but, thankfully, they give us an original photo shoot of the very British Haley Atwell. And if that isn't enough to wet your chops, they poly bag the issue and include a mouse pad shaped like Cap's shield from the movie (see below).
Item: "My Boyfriend is a Superhero" Journal from iscream

Comments: Yeah, it was a little embarrassing having me, a grown man, buy this one. Obvious, it was meant for young girls but Cap is kind of a weird character to use for this theme. But the cover does feature one of those images that flips between two drawings. Above we see the medium shot of John Romita's classic 1970s pose while the other image is the same art but the full figure. In all, a nice letter-sized notebook.
Item: Captain America: The Secret Story of Marvel's Star-Spangled Super Hero

Comments: A little thin for your typical trade paperback but much thicker than your average comic as well. And with a heavier stock cover, I'm calling this a trade. Stories inside include Cap battle the Red Skull over the Cosmic Cube from TALES OF SUSPENSE, AVENGERS #4, and Byrne and Stern's 40th anniversary origin story.
Item: The Courageous Captain America Coloring Book

Comments: Better than the poorly done coloring books from a decade ago with the terrible art. The art is decent in this one if not a little stylized. Some of the art is reused again and again, which happens with these coloring books. Villains featured are Arnim Zola, Baron Zemo, Hydra, A.I.M., Modoc, but NO Red Skull???
